BET WINS FOUR 2022 CLIO ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS

BRAND TAKES HOME SILVER IN THE KEY ART AND OUT-OF-HOME MIXED CAMPAIGN CATEGORY AND BRONZE IN THE INNOVATION, NETWORK AND BRAND IDENTITY AND LOGO CATEGORIES


NEW YORK, NY – November 30, 2022 – BET, a unit of Paramount (NASDAQ: PARAA; PARA; PARAP), has won four 2022 Clio Entertainment Awards, further building on a successful year for the marketing and digital teams. The network entered and received honors in four categories, winning: silver in the Key Art and Out of Home Mixed Campaign category, and bronze in the Innovation, Network and Brand Identity, and Logo categories.

“It’s a prestigious honor for our work to be recognized in multiple categories in the 2022 Clio Entertainment Awards,” said Kimberly Paige, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of BET. “We have been hyper-focused on conceptualizing dynamic campaigns that resonate and demonstrate BET’s commitment to evolving in a changing media and entertainment landscape.To be named winners across four categories is a humbling reflection of that work.”

Clio Entertainment is the original and definitive celebration of creativity in the entertainment business and recognizes excellence in marketing and communications across film, television, live entertainment and gaming. BET entered four categories in this year’s Clio Entertainment Awards, further spotlighting BET’s new visual brand identity and innovation surrounding the annual “BET Awards,” and were awarded the following:  

  • Black Canvas Mural Masterpieces was named a Silver Winner in the Key Art and Out Of Home Mixed Campaign category. The campaign featured illustrious designs from Black artists who captured the brand’s essence  as a destination for creative expression.

  • BET’s Black Canvas logo was named a Bronze Winner in the Brand & Program Identity Logo category. The Black Canvas logo leverages a strong, modular logo to unite the BET ecosystem (including linear, digital, streaming and experiential) in a unique and highly expressive way. The square logo lock-up is a visual metaphor for a blank canvas where anything can happen.

  • BET was also named a Bronze Winner in the Innovation category for its “BET Awards” Hollywood Sign. The company transformed the iconic Hollywood Sign, into a movie screen ahead of  “BET Awards” 2022 to amplify culture’s biggest night.

  • The final category, The Network/Series Identity Package, was entered for BET on behalf of Sibling Rivalry – also for BET Black Canvas. Sibling Rivalry partnered with BET to refresh the brand look and ensure visual consistency across the master brand, sub-brands, and special events and activations.
