BET’S HIT GOSPEL SINGING COMPETITION, SUNDAY BEST REVEALS SEASON FOUR TOP 20 CONTESTANTS
Gospel Greats Kirk Franklin, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, and Mary Mary Continue the Search for America’s Next Gospel Star
NEW YORK—July 11, 2011—In last night’s two-hour special premiere, BET’s award-winning gospel competition, SUNDAY BEST took viewers through the entertaining and hilarious audition process and revealed this season’s top 20 contestants. Thousands of hopefuls showed up for auditions in Atlanta, Dallas, and Los Angeles but only the best were selected to advance to the next round of competition in Atlanta.
Hosted by gospel legend Kirk Franklin, the new season includes returning judges Pastor Donnie McClurkin and multi-award winning sisters Erica and Tina Campbell of Mary Mary.

This season, fans can expect to be blown away by performances as the hopefuls make the journey all the way from auditions into the finals. Along the way, musical powerhouse Kim Burrell will provide vocal guidance to the Top 20 contestants. The winner of season four SUNDAY BEST will receive a national recording contract, a cash prize and a brand new 2011 Ford Explorer.
For three amazing seasons, SUNDAY BEST has entertained and touched viewers during its search for the next great gospel singer. From holding auditions all over the U.S. and in Nigeria, West Africa, SUNDAY BEST continues to be a fan favorite even winning a 2011 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Reality Series. SUNDAY BEST is a 9-week series executive produced by D’Angela Proctor and Nia T. Hill of Strange Fruit Media, Kirk Franklin and Erica and Tina Campbell.
